I'm so glad you're here!

I’m an Ontario registered psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, somatic breathwork practitioner, speaker, and the founder of Laura Bruno Psychotherapy. 

 

Whether you're dealing with anxiety, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, or other concerns, I am here to support you every step of the way! As an experienced anxiety and trauma therapist, I will help you relate to your difficult emotions differently, and equip you with skills to experience the growth and change you’ve been looking for.

 

I believe I can only take you as far as I have gone myself; this is why I am a lifelong learner. I am always reading a new book, researching a new topic, taking a new course, and going to therapy myself to ensure my continuous growth, as I feel that is the best way to support you.

My Specializations

As a former college professor and science nerd, I take the time to explain what happens to your mind and body when you’re stressed. I aim to make your experience feel more normal and help quiet those inner voices we all hear. I don't just do "talk therapy"—I also bring in the nervous system and somatic breathwork to help heal your body. I like to use simple language and metaphors because let's be real, our inner world can get pretty complicated!

I focus on anxiety and trauma therapy in Ontario and bring over 15 years of experience in mental health. I've worked with folks dealing with various issues, from self-esteem and body image to relationship problems, grief, and more. I also specialize in supporting first responders and their families, drawing from working closely with the Niagara Regional Police for 10 years as a crisis worker.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a type of therapy that helps people process and heal from traumatic experiences. It involves guided eye movements that help your brain rework how it stores traumatic memories, making them less intense and more manageable. Think of it as giving your mind a reboot, helping you move past those tough times. It's a safe and supportive way to tackle trauma and start feeling better. Somatic Breathwork Sessions

I have my MA in Mental Health Counselling and am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

 

I am trained in Eye Movement Desentization Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (BSFT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Somatic therapy and Somatic Breathwork and Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment.

 

I use a tailored approach, meaning I will use a variety of these techniques to meet you where you are at, and help you get to where you want to go.
